Kabul – 22 April 2025: Authorities registered 3,619 individuals from 752 families in a single day, continuing the return of Afghan refugees and marking steady progress in the reintegration effort. Moreover, They provided the returning families with registration, health services, transportation, financial assistance, and other essential support.

The Secretariat of the High Commission for Refugees issued a daily report detailing how regional committees in Nangarhar, Kandahar, Nimroz, Herat, and Kabul coordinated efforts to facilitate the return process. Moreover, authorities continue to streamline services at major border crossings as Afghan refugees return remains a key focus.

Nangarhar Receives 210 Families via Torkham
Through the Torkham border, 210 families—totaling 1,050 individuals—returned to Afghanistan. Authorities conducted biometric verification and registration, then relocated the families to Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, and Kabul. They distributed 777,300 Afghanis to 282 families for transport and provided 2,380,000 Afghanis as financial aid. Additionally, they handed out 822 free SIM cards.

Kandahar Registers 227 Families via Spin Boldak
Additionally, In Kandahar, 227 families comprising 1,176 individuals entered through Spin Boldak. Authorities transferred 111 families to other provinces and gave them 467,900 Afghanis. They also provided 1,842,000 Afghanis in aid to 223 families. Additionally, teams distributed food, offered medical care, and handed out 582 free SIM cards.

Nimroz Welcomes 93 Families and 1,295 Individuals
Via the Silk Road border, 93 families comprising 434 people, along with 1,295 individual travelers, returned to Afghanistan. Authorities distributed 708,000 Afghanis to 89 families and issued 93 free SIM cards.

Herat Registers 222 Families at Islam Qala
A total of 222 families comprising 959 people crossed through Islam Qala. Moreover, Authorities distributed 1,592,000 Afghanis in financial aid to 218 families.

Kabul Transfers 727 Individuals to 10 Provinces
Additionally, The Kabul center relocated 727 individuals from 132 families to Ghazni, Logar, Khost, Paktia, Paktika, Baghlan, Takhar, Balkh, Jawzjan, and Kunduz. Authorities provided 442,950 Afghanis to these families as transport support.

The commission reported that in one day:

  • 752 families (3,619 individuals) were registered
  • 515 families (2,724 individuals) were relocated
  • 812 families received financial aid
  • 1,497 SIM cards were distributed
