The Foreign Office Spokesperson responded to rising online criticism in a detailed statement. “These posts reflect a misunderstanding of the resolution adoption process and mischaracterize its outcome,” the statement noted.

According to MOFA, the resolution in question is part of an annual initiative led by the OIC in Geneva. It focuses on accountability for Israel’s actions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories is only presented once the Palestinian delegation has approved the text.

“OIC finalizes the resolution after negotiations and Palestinian approval.” the Spokesperson emphasized, adding that no unilateral modifications are made during the process.

The Foreign Office said the resolution refers the issue to the UNGA for further review. “It does not shelve the proposal, as has been wrongly portrayed.”

Pakistan said it neither recognizes Israel nor engages with it in multilateral forums. “Any suggestion of accommodating Israeli preferences is therefore baseless,” the spokesperson added.
